Small Engine Tools and Equipment (C-1)

This 5 day course covers the care, operation and field maintenance of equipment and tools powered by small gasoline and diesel engines.

Training begins with the basic principles and operation of two-cycle, four-cycle and diesel engines explaining the proper care and field maintenance. Various pieces of equipment are operated under field conditions.

Equipment included:

  Chain saws

  Multipurpose saws

  Pumps

  Compactors

Graduates are required to demonstrate proficiency in the care and operation of small engine powered equipment as well as the ability to perform normal field maintenance such as oil changes, minor adjustments, chain sharpening and bar and chain replacement.
