Dirk Worden--Executive Director
Dirk has been a LIUNA member since 1973 and the Executive Director of the Drexel J. Thrash Training Center since 1995. Dirk was a field rep and later Buisness Manager of Local #758 in Lorain, Ohio before accepting the post as Executive Director of the Training Center. He has a BA in Sociology from the Ohio State University and a Masters Degree in Education from Cleveland State University. He was co-captain of Ohio States' 1969 National Championship football team.
Bob Chatterson--Training Director
Bob has been a LIUNA member since 1974. He was an instructor from 1987 until he succeeded Glen Murphy as Training Director in 2003. He has an Associates Degree in Civil Engineering. Bob over-sees curriculum design and the scheduling of all the classes offered here at the Training Center and at the local union halls. He is a member of Local 809, Stuebenville, Ohio.
Vincent Irvin - Statewide Apprenticeship Coordinator
Vince started in 2005 as a Regional Apprenticeship Coordinator and became the Statewide Apprenticeship coordinator in 2009. He will be the resource person for the locals as they get their apprenticeship programs on line. Previously, he served as the Apprenticeship Coordinator for his local, #265 in Cinninnatti, Ohio. Vince has been a LIUNA member since 1993.
The Secretaries
Augusta Wears
Augusta (Gussy) is the administrative secretary of the Drexel J. Thrash Training Center. Gussys' main responsibilities are taking care of the payroll and procurement. She has been with the training center since 2007.
Ginny Simpson
Ginny is the Educational secretary. Her responsibilities include preparing all the instructional material needed for every class we offer, both here at the training center and the local classes. Ginny also makes all the certification cards that are issued upon successful completion of the training courses. She has been with the Drexel J. Thrash Training Center since 2006.
Nancy Sowders
Nancy is one of the schedulers for the training center. She, along with Patty(see below) sort through loads of applications and phone calls to try to get you into the class you want, when you want it. Nancy started with the Center in 2009.
Patty Giakoumas
Patty started working at the Training Center in 2002. Patty has a Bachelors degree in Business Administration from Ohio University. Patty works with Nancy doing the scheduling and also keeps the trainee records.
